General Situation of Guangxi Agriculture
Superiority of Guangxi Location
¡¡¡¡Guangxi
is located in the Southwest of coastal mainland of China, facing to
Southeastern Asia, leaning on big Southwest, on the connecting belt
of southeastern coastal area and big Southwest, being most convenient
passage to overseas from Southwestern China. Big Southwest includes
Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou, Tibet and Chongqing, with an area of more
than 2640 thousand square kilometers, and a population over 0.2 billion,
rich in products resource, strategically important, being one of regions
with greatest potential ability for economic development in China.
CCP Central and State Council have paid much attention to opening
and development of Big Southwest. In May, 1992, CCP Central decided
to ¡°sufficiently make use of Guangxi as passage to overseas from Southwestern
China¡±, which established the strategic functions of Guangxi in China¡¯s
all-around opening to the outside world, and united opening and development
with Big Southwest. Guangxi is not only hinge from Southern China
to Southwest, but also a province along sea, lakes and territory;
it has not only proper climate for sub-tropical plants to grow, but
also abundant of minerals; it has not only convenient traffic by water,
land and air, but also communication network connecting with the whole
world; it is not only minority region, but also an important area
for returned overseas Chinese and its relatives to live in; it has
not only rapid developed high technology, but also cheap labor. Unique
location advantage makes Guangxi the sole minority autonomous region
along sea, lakes and territory. |
